IPL 2021: CSK full squad details
Chennai
Super Kings had a lot to do in the auction for IPL 2021. They had
a forgettable tournament last year. For the first time in the history of Indian
Premier League, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings ended the tournament at the
7th position. In the IPL auction, therefore, they had to buy some key players
for a strong comeback.
It was
interesting to see Chennai Super Kings going for Cheteshwar Pujara. Not a lot
would have thought of Pujara making it to an IPL side.
While they went for some base price buys, they stacked up two players for a
total of 16.25 crore. The challenge for Chennai Super Kings was to get some
effective and young players on board to strengthen the core balance. K Gowtham
and Moeen Ali can serve them as the all-rounders. However, they were in need of
a back-up opener.
