Punjab Kings had the biggest purse ahead of the auction after releasing quite a few big names. They had to address some issues and they tried to utilize the money in good buys. They were mostly focused but went overboard with some buys.

Punjab Kings spent most of their money on two Australian bowlers. They also ensured the services of Dawid Malan and Shahrukh Khan, who are in good T20 form in recent times. They managed to get a bunch of backup all-rounders like Moises Henriques and Fabian Allen who can be useful in place of Chris Jordan in case of injuries. However, Punjab Kings required an Indian pace bowling option as the other fast bowling options apart from Shami and the Aussie duo, looks slightly inexperienced. The full squad looks quite solid and should be doing well in the league if used smartly.

Amit Mishra shares his thoughts on spin bowling

  India has produced a good number of quality spinners throughout the year but there are very few wrist spinners available and Amit Mishra is one of them.
