Shane Bond believes Hardik Pandya hasn’t lost anything as an all-rounder

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in stunning form with the bat. But his bowling has impressed many too and it has become a sigh of relief for his team prior to the all-important Indian Premier League.

Pandya has recovered from his back injury last year due to which he had to undergo surgeries as well. After that, he returned to action but stopped bowling and played as a batsman only, even during the last year’s IPL in the UAE too. However, it seems he has lost nothing as a batsman but he doesn't look the same bowler who ran like earlier.

Earlier, he rolled his arm over in a couple of T20Is in Australia and then finally returned to bowling a bit more against England in the T20Is and ODIs at home as well where his pace has significantly reduced too, even though he seems to have worked on a few variations as well.

However, his Mumbai Indians bowling Coach Shane Bond believes Hardik Pandya has lost nothing as an all-rounder.

"It's natural that you will lose a bit of top-end consistent pace after a back injury, but what is important is that he hasn't lost his aggressive approach. He can use the bouncer too, has the skills to swing the ball and can still work up a good pace,"

Bond said to TOI.

The Mumbai Indians team is in Chennai now and preparing for the IPL starting on April 9 where they will play the series opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Bond is hoping that Hardik will be at his best as well.

"When you have a surgery, you are likely to get aches and pains in other parts of the body and that's what happened to Hardik last year during IPL. We did not want him to pick up another injury because he is too valuable as a batsman. Our aim was to get him back in the process of returning as an all-rounder for India and he is coming to this IPL having done so against England," Bond concluded.
