Sachin Tendulkar Reveals the First Meeting Experience With Virat Kohli

 


Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has recently recalled a funny incident during a dressing room meeting from his playing days. He has revealed how a few of his Indian teammates had played a prank on the young Virat Kohli in his debut series in the Indian team.

Virat Kohli had made his debut for India in August 2008 on the back of some stellar performance in the junior level. He had also revealed in 2017 that his senior teammates at that time - Yuvraj Singh, Munaf Patel, and Irfan Pathan had played a prank on him by saying that youngsters who come into the Indian team for the first time have to seek blessings from Sachin Tendulkar by touching his feet in the first meeting.

Seniors got the chance to trick him as the young Kohli wanted to meet his idol Sachin Tendulkar and he shared it with others as well. Kohli also added that he did not even think whether they were saying the truth or doing a prank on him. And, during the first meet, he fell at Tendulkar’s feet at the dressing room.

While confirming the same, Sachin Tendulkar has recently said that he was surprised to see Kohli fell at his feet as he didn’t have any idea what was going on. But soon after, they realized it was a prank.

“I didn’t know what was happening. I asked him ‘what are you doing?’. Told him that there was no need for this and such things don’t happen. Then he got up and we looked at those guys, they started laughing,” Sachin Tendulkar said on YouTube show LegendsWithUnacademy.

Notably, Virat Kohli had earlier revealed this incident during his chat with sports presenter Gaurav Kapur on Breakfast with Champions as well. He stressed about the players like Yuvraj, Munaf, Harbhajan Singh and Irfan who did that prank on him.

  India has produced a good number of quality spinners throughout the year but there are very few wrist spinners available and Amit Mishra is one of them.
